On April 29, the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood will highlight the contributions made by the Army Volunteer Corps at the annual installation recognition luncheon. The award ceremony and luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pershing Community Center.

A check in the amount of $1,332,248 symbolizing the dollar value of 65,790 volunteer hours contributed during the 2009 calendar year will be presented to the installation leadership. The dollar figure is calculated by multiplying the total number of reported hours by the average wage paid to an American worker.

Currently, there are 1,170 registered volunteers with the Army Volunteer Corps Office at Fort Leonard Wood.
