It was only fitting for the home team.

After a scoreless regulation, it was leading goal scorer Amanda White who finally ended things for the St. James High School girls’ soccer squad.

White, a junior forward who has led the Lady Tigers in goals scored all three of her seasons, tallied the game’s lone goal in overtime, lifting the Lady Tigers to a 1-0 win over Dixon in non-conference action Monday at the St. James Middle School Field.

The victory ups St. James’ overall record to 12-3. Dixon falls to 11-3.

The two teams battled to a standoff in a game played in rain much of the second half.

Junior Kayla Walters got the shutout in goal for St. James.

The two teams played earlier this season and St. James won that game, too— only this time, the Tigers needed overtime and a shootout for a 2-1 win.

Monday night, the Lady Tigers also won the junior varsity game 5-0.

Dixon hosts Southern Boone County today at 4:30 p.m.
