  • The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house public hearing on Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to discuss plans to replace two bridges along Route 32 in Laclede County.
The hearing will take place at the Gasconade C-4 School Gymnasium located at 32959 Highway 32 in Falcon, Mo. The location is accessible to persons with disabilities.
Plans include the replacement of the Route 32 bridges over the Osage Fork of the Gasconade River west of Route Z and the Gasconade River east of Falcon.  The work is being done to improve safety at both locations.
The Osage Fork of the Gasconade River project is estimated to cost $1.8 million. The Gasconade River Bridge project is estimated to cost $2.4 million.
MoDOT proposes to close both bridges and detour traffic during construction, which is currently scheduled during the 2012 construction season. The construction schedule for this project, as well as other area bridge projects will be discussed in greater detail during the hearing.
The public may meet with MoDOT staff about these projects at any time during the advertised hours to ask questions and express their views. No formal presentation is planned.  Maps and other displays outlining project details will be available to the public.
Hearing displays and project information will be available for viewing online at www.modot.org/central the day following the public hearing.
