  • Kid’s fishing derby returns

  • The Fort Leonard Wood Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s annual Kid’s Trout Fishing Derby is scheduled to take place at the Stone Mill Spring Recreation Area from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 25. Event registration starts at 9 a.m.

  • The Fort Leonard Wood Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s annual Kid’s Trout Fishing Derby is scheduled to take place at the Stone Mill Spring Recreation Area from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 25. Event registration starts at 9 a.m.
    The event is open to the public and is free for children ages two to 15 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
    Licenses and fees will be waived for the day, and prizes are set to be awarded in various categories.
    Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing poles; however, a limited number of poles will be available for use.
    The MWR Outdoor Adventure Center plans to host the event in partnership with the local Department of Natural Resources, the Missouri Department of Conservation and the U.S. Forest Service.
