The Pulaski County Humane Society is hosting a 5 K winter run this weekend which promises to be fun for the whole family called Payin’ for the Spayin’.
The entire family is invited to take part in the run, even Fido, provided he is on a leash, up-to-date on all of his shots and  able to participate without disrupting the other runners, walkers or pets.
Runners who don’t have their own dog to run with, but would like to run with a dog can contact PCHS at 573-736-2088 and the shelter will provide a dog that would really enjoy the chance to run through town on the 5K.
The proceeds from Payin’ for the Spayin’ will go towards spay/neuter certificates, health care and other nedessities for dogs and cats who find themselves in the custody of PCHS.
Pre-registration for the run is available at www.lovingpawsadoptioncenter.com/feb5k.html or runners/walkers can register at St. Robert Fitness.
Runners will be treated to a breakfast of crepes, fruit and other items once they pass the finish line and the center will host Volunteer Appreciation Day where volunteers and runners can mingle in a meet and greet with snacks, tour the shelter and visit with the animals available for adoption.
People interested in adopting a pet will  be able to adopt during the event, as well.
