The last two remaining area high school teams will continue their seasons next week as Waynesville will take on the Class 3, District 9 champion Columbia Rockbridge Bruins in soccer and Dixon will take on the Class 2, District 10 champions Hartville Eagles.


Waynesville just won the Class 3, District 10 championship over Camdenton on Wednesday night and will enter next Tuesday's game with a 17-9 record. Columbia Rockbridge beat Jefferson City 4-2 and are 14-6.

The winner of this game will travel to the winner of Springfield Glendale and Springfield Central. Glendale is 17-5 and has already beaten Waynesville 2-0. Central is 14-9. Whoever wins the Glendale/Central game will host the winner of Waynesville/Columbia Rockbridge on Saturday May 26 at a time to be announced.

Dixon, who just won the Class 2, District 9 title, will take on Hartville on Monday in Hartville. Dixon is 23-5 and ran away with the Frisco League championship and rolled through their district competition. Dixon has now won eight straight games and last lost against Eldon 13-12.

Hartville is 16-7, but have won their last 11 games, last losing to Billings in the West Plains wood bat tournament, 5-3.

The winner of Dixon/Hartville will take on the winner of Clever/Southwest (Washburn) on May 23 at a site and time to be determined.
