Waynesville is hosting the annual Summer Jam celebration Saturday in the town square. The event will feature food, music and fun for the whole family.
Kids will enjoy many different activities, including bounce houses, obstacle courses and pony rides, while adults can peruse the wares of more than 45 vendors and listen to some great live music. Seven different bands are scheduled to perform, ranging from acoustic rock band, Miles from Nowhere, to blues band, Ozark Outpost. With all the different bands, each visitor is sure to find something they can dance to.
The event is free of charge and designed to be a fun event for all ages. Be sure to bring sunscreen and sunglasses, as the weather is expected to be sunny and in the 90s.
Bands at Summer Jam begin playing at 11:15 a.m. and will keep things rocking and rolling until the event ends. Lawn chairs are allowed but alcohol is not. However, adult beverages can be enjoyed inside the establishments that serve alcohol around the square.
The event concludes with a raffle for plane tickets to St. Louis, donated by Cape Air, or a guitar donated by Route 66 Music. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at Lone Oak Printing on the square during Summer Jam.
Come down to the square and join in the fun at this popular event. This is a great way to discover what there is to do in the local area.
