According to Police Chief Chris Twitchel, on 05-23-2012 The Crocker Police Department became the recipient of a 4x4 Military Humvee through the Department of Defense 1033 program. The program has allowed area agencies including Waynesville Pd, and Richland Pd, to acquire these vehicles at no cost. This program gives surplus equipment to agencies that do not have budgets to afford them. This vehicle acquired by Crocker Police Department will not be used for normal patrol but used for natural disasters and in climate weather. According to Chief Chris Twitchel These vehicles are great utility vehicles which have been proven to be rugged and versatile by the military. It will be a great tool to get to places some of our civilian vehicles cannot reach in times of winter weather or natural disasters. We would like to thank the Department of Defense for allowing us to participate in this program.
