James "Marvin" Thompson of Rolla passed away June 13, 2012 at the age 72 years.  James loved the outdoors, fishing, singing and playing music, Guitar and Banjo.  James Marvin Thompson served in The U.S. Navy for 22 years.  James was born August 26, 1939 in Arlington, MO the son of James H. and Amy Thompson.  James was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Bonnie Thompson. James is survived by his three children a son James L. Thompson of Newburg, two daughters Margaret Cardin and husband John of Rolla, Teresa Norton and husband Bruce of Oak Grove, MO; 9 grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren, one brother, Orville Thompson of Columbia, MO, 2 sisters Betty Grayson of Rolla, MO and Barbara Austin and husband Keith of Arkansas.  There will be a one day service Saturday, June 16, 2012 with visiting from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. with funeral service following  1 p.m. at the Teague And Sons Funeral Home in Newburg, MO.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Teague And Sons for expenses. Interment will be at the Goodall Cemetery in Newburg, Missouri. All arrangements were made under the direction of the Teague And Sons Funeral Home in Newburg, Missouri.
