  •   It is every parent's worst nightmare — to have their child go missing, regardless of their age. Yet that is the reality hundreds of parents across the state and country are forced to deal with.  While most missing people are eventually located, many families never get the answer to the question: "What happened to my loved one?" According to Findthemissing.org, the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUS), there are as many as 100,000 active missing person cases at any given time. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 667 people have been reported since 1953 and have not been found. Of those 667, 467 are children. In the first six months of 2012 alone, 1,542 adults and 2,866 chidden have been reported missing. While most of them have been located, 167 adults and 228 children have not been found. Potter Age: 45 Date of disappearance: Jan. 19, 2007 Missing From: Rolla Circumstances: Timothy Potter was last seen at a friend's house near the intersection of Pinetree Road and Richard Street in Rolla. Investigators suspect foul play in his disappearance as he was extremely close to his family and maintained daily contact with them. Police say there were two persons of interest in the case early on, and one of them has died since then. They remain hopeful that someone will give them the information that will either lead them to Potter or give his family peace of knowing what happened. Willis Age: 45 Date of disappearance:  Sept. 28, 2005 Missing from: Rolla Circumstances: Qutisha Willis's daughter reported her missing after not being able to contact her mother for about a month. Police say no evidence points to foul play in this case, but it is strange that she has not had contact with her family, especially her daughter who she was believed to be close to.
