  • A St. James woman has died after being struck by a car while on a jog this morning.
Lisa Persicke, 45, was running on Old Route 66 near County Road 2290 when police believe she was hit by a dark blue Nissan Murano or Rogue.
The car fled the scene after the accident.

According to scanner traffic, the vehicle has been located, but the driver of the vehicle is still missing.
The scanner indicated the vehicle that hit Persicke, a mother of two, was operated by James Krewson, 76. They believe Krewson may be traveling in a 2005 white Dodge Caravan.
Persicke's husband, who was following her in his car during her run, but stopped to use the restroom, found his injured wife laying along the roadside. Persicke was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis and later died from her injuries.
