The Waynesville High School softball team will be competing in the Buffalo Softball Tournament this weekend and have received a top four seeding.

“We really didn't seed the teams in a traditional way,” said Buffalo Athletic Director Eric DeRossett. “We sent out a survey and just asked each coach to fill out where they thought they should be. Then the top four were put in the upper bracket and we drew from the last four teams to see who the top four would play.”

Waynesville ended up being in the top four and will play Logan-Rogersville at 10:30 a.m. at the city field in Buffalo. If they win their second round opponent will either be Weableau or the host team, Buffalo.

The first round will start on Saturday, August 25 at 9:00 a.m. and the other first round games are; Branson vs. Skyline, Camdenton vs. Osage and Weableau vs. Buffalo.

This is just a one day tournament, with the championship game set to take place at 4:30 p.m. at the high school field.
