The Crocker High School softball team has outscored their opponents 45-0 in three games as they shut out Plato in a first round Frisco League Tournament game 20-0 on Saturday.
Briana Peterson and Hannah Adams both went deep with three run homeruns to cap a 16 run first inning and that was the story of this game.
Adams started the game and extended her scoreless innings streak to nine, before head coach Jim Shockley pulled her to give her some rest for their next game.
“It' still early in the season and we still have some things to work on,” said Shockley. “I was happy that we could hit the slow pitcher because we normally have trouble with them.”
Because of the lopsided score, Shockley was able to empty his bench and get al of his players some much needed playing time.
“It's good to be able to give everybody a chance to play,” said Shockley. “In the long run it is really going to help us out.”
Adams would knock in four runs on the day and Peterson would contribute three RBI.
In other first round games, Newburg was able to come back and beat Laquey 9-5, as Newburg scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth and then hold on for the victory.
Third seeded Dixon beat Richland 16-1 in four innings. Hunter Yoakum had the game winning two run double in the bottom of the fourth.
