After starting the season 0-2, the Waynesville High school girls' tennis team has now won two straight matches after beating Willow Springs 6-3 on Tuesday night.

“It really could have gone either way because there where some pretty close matches,” said head coach Paula Davis.

Waynesville won four out of their six single matches with senior Randi Secules, junior Makenzie King and freshmen Sophia Cressler and Clarissa Vance all winning their matches. Secules and Vance also won their doubles match.

“Randi Secules had a really good night beating Shaylee Conner 8-3,” said Davis. “Randi played a very consistent and patient game letting her opponent make the mistakes. This carried over into her doubles with Clarissa Vance allowing them to beat Conner and Dale 8-6”

Waynesville will next play tonight against Jefferson City.
