The Iberia baseball team went 1-1 in the AA Bash Tournament over the weekend and lost to Conway on Monday night, 6-3.
Iberia defeated St. Elizabeth 17-5 on Saturday, but then the Rangers lost to Russelville 8-4. The Rangers followed that up with a second straight loss to Conway on Monday night.
"We have swung the bat well in the last three games, we just need to clean up our defensive play,” said head coach Tim Vinson. “We had a few miscues that Conway took advantage of, we stranded several base runners and seemed to be one base hit short of putting up runs throughout the game."
Wyatt Ray got the win against St. Elizabeth, going seven innings, allowing five runs and five hits, while striking out seven.
Darrien Dicky was the losing pitcher against Russelville. He went five innings, allowing eight runs and five hits. Dicky also struck out five. Isaac Minnick threw one inning in the game.
Dustin Bloodgood pitched against Conway, going six innings, allowing all six runs, along with six hits. He struck out seven. Riley Halley threw the final inning against Conway, striking out two and allowing no hits.
Iberia will next play Sept. 13 at Licking. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
