  • Ruby Jewell Clark
    Ruby Jewell Clark, daughter of the late James Luther and Mary Suzanna (Poe) Massey, was born December 18, 1942 in Licking, Missouri. She passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 in the Mercy Hospital of Springfield, Missouri having attained the age of 69 years, 9 months and 11 days.
    Ruby attended and graduated from Richland High School. On April 17, 1965, she was united in marriage to Fredrick Chapman Clark, Sr. and they shared over 26 years of marriage together and six children. Fred preceded her in death in 1991.
    Ruby was a hardworking woman. She worked as a CNA for several years and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family and took great pride in providing for them. In her spare time, you could find Ruby cooking for her family and friends – although she did not like to do dishes. She was also very talented when it came to sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Francis J. Lynch VFW Post 3168 of Laquey.
    Ruby was a very loving woman. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and she was referred to as “Grandma” by several people, even if they were not biologically her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
    Ruby leaves to cherish her memory her five children: Dianna Young of Laquey, MO, Fredrick Clark, Jr., of Springfield, MO, Janet Mayberry of Springfield, MO, Gregory Clark of Joplin, MO and Kenneth Lee Clark of Laquey, MO; one stepson: David Clark of the state of California; 3 sisters: Carolyn McGee, Phyllis Graves and Juanita Nye; 1 brother: Luther Massey; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by one sister: Evelyn Adkins; and one great granddaughter: Cynthia Rose.
    Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. The songs “Rock of Ages”, “When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Peace in the Valley” were played. Serving as escorts were Frederick Clark, Jr., Gregory Clark, Kenneth Lee Clark Roger Graves II, Tommy Massey and Matthew Young. Burial followed in the Palace Cemetery of Roby, Missouri.
