The WHS Speech and Theatre Department and Thespian Troupe 1669 are performing Murder in the Cathedral, a Nobel-prize winning play for literature by T.S. Eliot.

The drama is continuing to be presented at 7 p.m. tonight, Nov. 16, and Saturday, Nov. 17, and also at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, in the Waynesville High School Theatre. Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $4 for middle and high school students and $3 for children. A special $3 senior citizen admission will be offered for the Sunday afternoon performance.

The play takes place in December of 1170, when Archbishop Thomas Becket is assassinated at the altar in Canterbury Cathedral.  The audience will go back in time with a chorus foreshadowing the coming violence, along with priests, tempters and knights moving the plot forward.
