The Truman State men’s basketball team has to be the best 1 and 3 team I have ever seen.  They lost another heartbreaker on Tuesday night by two points to Quincy and hand have been within a basket or two of winning every game they have lost this year.  Their lone victory was a thrashing of a horribly overmatched Central College of the Bible on Monday night.  Make no mistake about it, Truman has a very good team and I have no doubt these early season losses are going to pay off in the end.

The women on the other hand are playing outstanding basketball right now and looked very impressive against a good Quincy team on Tuesday.  As I have said before, this could very well be the best women’s basketball team Truman has ever had.

The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team has their first real test of the year on Thanksgiving Day at noon when they take on Stanford in the Bahamas.  I have no idea why anyone would schedule a game at noon on Thanksgiving but I tend to not be consulted on these things.  Missouri is undefeated so far this year but honestly hasn’t played anyone even close to their level and it will be interesting to see how they fair against a very good Stanford team.  I’m sure someone will tell me all about it as I will be eating during that time and am unlikely to see one second of it.

Quarterback James Franklin is questionable for Missouri’s loss at Texas AandM this Saturday due to the concussion he suffered on Saturday while Missouri was losing to Syracuse.  Several other Tigers are also apparently suffering from concussion related symptoms as well as I have read quotes from a couple of them who feel they have an excellent chance of winning on Saturday.

We will be back on Friday with our post-Thanksgiving look at the rest of the weekend’s sports action as well as whatever else we can find to make fun of.  Thanks as always for supporting this blog and please continue to do the same for the other blogs on this site as well.

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
