On last week's Thanksgiving-themed episode of "X Factor," hometown musician Vino Alan gave thanks to the military, singing a heart-felt version of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A."
Before his performance, Alan explained that he wanted to join the military but was turned down because of his many tattoos.
He told the Daily Guide that he spent the last few years performing and he feels like it's his way of giving back to his country.
In last week's episode, Alan's performance showed his genuine passion for the troops.
"I'm really proud of you ... You are the truth, my friend!" Alan's mentor and X Factor judge L.A. Reid said.
The judges gave Alan standing ovation and America responded by once again voting for Vino into the show's top eight finalists.
For the third week in a row, Alan received the third most votes from X Factor fans.
