On Dec. 6, the Downtown Business Association will host Christmas on the Square in Downtown Waynesville from 6 to 9 p.m.
1 Christmas Festivities: On Thursday in the Square, you can take photos with Santa and the Grinch, take a ride in mule drawn carriages or an old fashion hay ride. One of the most notable events is the Tree of Warmth Coat giveaway sponsored by Ozark Media and free gloves and mittens giveaway by Citizens Mortgage.
2 Wide variety of food: The entire square will be filled with free hot dogs, hot chocolates and hot ciders. There will be vendors with cake pops, cotton candy, steak sandwiches, barbeque, turkey and dumplings, and popcorn
3Live entertainment: The Courthouse will have storytelling for the children or you can check out the Old Stagecoach Stop for that old-fashion Christmas, or enjoy the Cowboy Christmas presented by Amazing Grace Church of Crocker. Visit the live Nativity by Buckhorn Baptist Church. Enjoy the Christmas music by many of the Christmas Carolers throughout the evening.
As the Square will be closed for traffic, the Armed Services YMCA along with Route 66 Music will be offering shuttle rides from the Waynesville Middle School parking lot to downtown Waynesville. The Waynesville Police Dept. will be rerouting traffic at 4:30 p.m. Please alternate your route if you can.
