Fort Leonard Wood paid tribute to 4-year-old search dog,Tygo, that was killed in action on Nov. 10 after being struck by an improvised explosive device.
The service was held on Wednesday morning for the Irish Setter that was trained for the Army in Explosive Detection at Lackland Airforce and later served for the Engineer Canine Company at Fort Leonard Wood.
A Fort Leonard Wood press release described Tygo as "always steadfast and ready," and a "four-footed warrior."
"He was consistently on point, finding numerous caches of weapons and explosive making devices. His actions saved countless lives," the press release said.
Tygo served in Afghanistan under Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force from August to November, 2012.
