Local bar raises $735 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure

The customers, staff, and management of Chicken Bones Party Bar & Grill donated $735 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure from a special event, "Cocktails for a Cause – Little Black Dress Night". This was the first of a series of "Cocktails for a Cause" events with a goal of raising a total of $5,000 for women's charities.

The first of the "Cocktails for a Cause – Little Black Dress Night" was held Saturday, December 1 and was attended by more than 300 people from around Mid-Missouri. Held in association with corporate sponsor Little Black Dress Vodka, these are a series of events to dress up and step out.

"We are extremely excited and thrilled to have the corporate sponsorship of Little Black Dress Vodka committed for six Little Black Dress Night events with us," said Director of Operations John Randles. "The Susan G Komen foundation is the perfect match for our first Cocktails for a Cause event. Everyone knows someone or has had cancer impact they're own life, so it is fitting that our first donation go towards an organization that benefits research, education, and a search for a cure not only here in America but worldwide."

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the most widely known, largest and best-funded breast cancer organization in the United States. Since its inception in 1982, Komen is the leader in funding breast cancer research, education, advocacy, health services and social support programs.

The next "Cocktails for a Cause – Little Black Dress Night" will be held at Chicken Bones Party Bar & Grill Saturday, January 19, 2013. Ladies wearing a little black dress receive free admission and a special cocktail menu. All door proceeds will go to a women's charity.
