Gov. Jay Nixon Wednesday appointed Pulaski County Associate Circuit Judge Greg Warren to fill the position of Circuit Judge for the 25th Circuit, which includes Maries, Phelps, Pulaski and Texas counties.
The position became available when Nixon appointed Judge Mary W. Sheffield to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District.
“Judge Warren has ably demonstrated his dedication to public service by serving on the bench in this circuit for more than 18 years and for several years before that as the prosecuting attorney in Pulaski County,” Nixon said. “He has earned the trust and respect of the citizens of this region, and I am pleased to appoint him as a circuit judge to serve the people of the counties in this circuit.”
Judge Warren was appointed as an associate circuit judge in 1994, after serving for 13 years as the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney.
He was re-elected as judge in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010 and has presided over a wide range of criminal and civil cases during his time on the bench.
A graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia and of the George Washington University Law School, Warren also served as a first lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve.
