Registration for the second Catch Cupid if you Can Fun Run/Walk is now open.

The 5K run/walk is 10 a.m. Feb. 9 in Riverview Park.

Registration forms are available at the Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department, 320 Broadway, and Douglass Community Services, 711 Grand Ave.

More information is available at www.hannibalparks.org/programs-events/

Participants must register by Jan. 25 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Day-of registration begins at 9 a.m.

Packet pickup is 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 at Hannibal Parks & Recreation office at 320 Broadway (City Hall) and before the event at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at Riverview Park.

The cost is $10 for youth 12 and under; $20 for adults 13 and over; and $30 for couples.

The course will be closed off to vehicular traffic so it will be safe for families, senior adults, dogs on leashes and strollers.

A training program with suggested workouts, called Couch to Cupid, is available online at: www.hannibalparks.org/files/Parks_Rec/Documents/Cupid_Training_Flyer.pdf

Every woman who crosses the finish line will receive a flower. There will be prizes for the first man and woman to finish.

The Hannibal Parks & Recreation is sponsoring the event. Proceeds go to Kids in Motion, which is part of Douglass Community Services. Kids in Motion is an employment program for at-risk teens and pre-teens which teaches the value of work and community.   Participants in the KIM program spend time in Riverview Park in the summer, picking up trash, weeding and clearing trails. During the run/walk, KIM members will be on the course cheering on participants.
