Mackenzie Cunningham, an 8th grader at Waynesville Middle School, has been named the December Student of the Month.  Cunningham is a great student and role model who always has a smile on her face.

“Her willingness to help others exemplifies the type of student WMDS is hoping to produce,” says WMDS Principal John Fluhrer.  “Overall, Mackenzie does an excellent job at the middle school.”

Cunningham received an engraved plaque, and was honored during the Pulaski County Rotary Club meeting on Dec. 18.

Cunningham serves as the secretary of the FCCLA organization, and tirelessly works to promote membership for this newly formed chapter at the middle school.

“The early success of this organization can be attributed back to her,” Fluhrer says.

She is a straight-A student and her lowest average first quarter grade was a 95 percent. She is a member of the WMDS choir program and is going through confirmation through Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
