Treaty forms basis of international space law
The Treaty on Principles Govering the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies, aka the Outer Space Treaty, was opened for signature in London, England; Moscow, Russia; and Washington, DC, on January 27, 1967. It became effective in October of that year.
