FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. – Owners of Android mobile devices can now have access to the latest Fort Leonard Wood news and information right at their fingertips – literally.

Fort Leonard Wood released a free mobile app on Google Play for Android devices today. The app provides information on the various organizations within the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood, such as the U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School; the U.S. Army Engineer School; and the U.S. Army Military Police School, as well as the Marine, Navy and Air Force detachments. It also provides information on things to do on the installation and on-post services to include Army Community Service, post housing and the Recycling Center.

The Fort Leonard Wood Public Affairs Office developed the app with the help of the MSCoE’s Program Support Division under the G-3/5/7. According to Tiffany Wood, Fort Leonard Wood Public Affairs Office acting director, creating this app is a huge success for Fort Leonard Wood.

“As far as I know, Fort Leonard Wood is one of the first, if not the first, Army installations to develop a mobile app,” Wood said. “This app allows Fort Leonard Wood to get its information to people the way they want it, which is literally at their fingertips.”

And for those Apple users out there, Wood said her office is in the planning process of developing an app for Apple devices.
