An over-turned tractor-trailer shut down a part of I-44 and left a passenger with minor injuries on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred around 6 a.m. when a tractor-trailer ran off the left side of the road on westbound I-44 around mile marker 157, near the Waynesville Career Center. The tractor-trailor then returned to the roadway, overturned, and struck the cable median barrier, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
The passenger in the vehicle was taken to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon to be treated with minor injuries. According to the MSHP report, the driver was not injured.
The tractor-trailer was totaled and the accident caused the left lane to close for most of the morning and temporarily the highway was shut down between St. Robert and Waynesville.
