  • Jefferson City-Three representatives from the Pulaski County Tourism Bureau met with legislators during the recent Capitol Days for Tourism at the State Capitol held on February 27, 2013.
The annual event joins Missouri tourism members with lawmakers whose decisions affect the tourism industry. Hospitality industry members gather to remind the legislators of the important role that tourism plays in the state's economy. Capitol Days for Tourism is sponsored by the Missouri Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus, Missouri Association of Fairs and Festivals, Missouri Hotel and lodging Association and Missouri Travel Council.
"Tourism matters to the State of Missouri and to Pulaski County. It's important to reinforce that message to our legislators at the Capitol and let them know the importance of tourism funding and how much we appreciate the support," said Rick Morris, President of the Board of Directors of the Pulaski County Tourism Bureau.
Morris attended the event along with fellow board members Gayle Helms and Janel Rowell. The group visited legislator offices to speak with elected officials and discussed legislative issues important to the hospitality industry.
