A family that has been an icon at the lake for several decades is re-investing in the lake community.
The family of the late Carl D. Williams will build a 12,600 retail center where Carl’s Market was located for so many years in Monarch Plaza. The market closed several years ago and was a furniture store until it closed about two years ago. Williams at one time owned businesses in Osage Beach, Lake Ozark and on Horseshoe Bend.
Plans are still in the development stage, but the center is expected to include a larger anchor store with some smaller stores with the ability to expand for larger tenants.
Preliminary plans call for a French country-style structure with stone and stucco façade.
TXR Architects of Lake Ozark has the design-building contract.
