In a special ceremony held on Monday, Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Wells passed the senior enlisted responsibilities of the the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Fort Leonard Wood to Command Sgt. Maj.Terrence Murphy.
At the ceremony, Sgt. Maj. Terrence Murphy reflected on his first arrival to Fort Leonard Wood 29 years ago for basic training. Murphy said he has spent 10 of his 29 years in the military at Fort Leonard Wood.
On Monday, Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Wells retired after 33 years of honorable service to our Nation. After making 16 moves throughout the world with the military, Wells said he could not think of a better place to finish up his military career than Fort Leonard Wood. His wife, Ann Wells, was honored by Maj. Gen. Mark Yenter with the Department of the Army Outstanding Civilian Service award to Ann Wells for her support to Soldiers, families and civilians of Fort Leonard Wood. She was also presented with Training and Doctrine Command's Margaret C. Corbin Award for exemplary volunteerism.
