  • Law enforcement officials are hoping that an autopsy set for today of a Missouri University and Science and Technology student found dead in her residential hall will shed some light on their investigation.
Kaitlin M. Brown, 19, of Mission, Kan., was found dead Saturday around 2:34 a.m. in Farrar Hall, located at the corner of Ninth and State streets on the Missouri S&T campus. Brown was a sophomore studying business and information technology.
While Rolla Police Chief Mark Kearse said Sunday more information about her death would be released Monday, when he was contacted Monday, Kearse said the investigation is still ongoing.
"I'm not saying anything about the investigation," Kearse said Monday.
Kearse said there are some circumstances surrounding the death that he does not feel comfortable with.
"There are questions we feel need to be answered and we will continue the investigation until we get those questions answered," Kearse said.
The Rolla Police Department and S&T campus police are conducting the investigation.
Students who wish to seek counseling services may contact the office of counseling, disability support and student wellness at 204 Norwood Hall on campus or by emailing counsel@mst.edu.
