Dixon coach Alex Shelton's comments: "I was happy that we came out and finished the tournament on a good note by playing a very solid and clean game. I am very proud of our team this weekend and how we played in all three games. I thought we got outstanding pitching efforts and very good defensive play all weekend, both things we will need as the season progresses. Offensively we also did a very good job, especially with the wood bats ... we had a lot of contributors, including both starters and non-starters."
Dixon began Frisco Conference play Monday with a home contest against Laquey. The Bulldogs will play at Class 4 powerhouse St. James today before hosting Stoutland Thursday at 5 p.m.
