  • WAYNESVILLE – Add another name to Waynesville High's list of college student-athletes to be.
    Senior Josh Rocker, a massive defensive end who finished his Waynesville Tigers football career in the fall, signed a letter of intent to play college football at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Wednesday.
    Rocker said his athletic accomplishments "means a lot" to both he and his family.
    "My dad has taken me to camps over the summer and spent a lot of time and money on me," Rocker said. "I'm really excited; I've had this goal since freshman year."
    Rocker was accompanied by his father, Scott Rocker, his mother, Kye, Waynesville coach Rick Vernon and Waynesville athletic director Josh Scott, as well as many friends.
