A family quarrel late Thursday afternoon resulted in a stabbing, leaving a Laquey man in critical condition.
At around p.m. Pulaski County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a home on Highway W in Laquey, after receiving a 911 call from a female advising someone there had just been stabbed. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies and EMS personnel discovered a male victim in the home who was bleeding profusely from a large stab wound. A family member was administering first aid to the victim, which was probably the sole factor in keeping him alive until help arrived.
The male victim, identified as Raemond Pruett, was transported to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital for emergency surgery, and was later moved to a hospital in Columbia for further care.
An investigation into the matter led to the arrest of a female suspect, who was transported to the Pulaski County Jail where she was incarcerated. The suspect’s name is being withheld pending formal charges.
