The remains of Spc. Charles McClure, 21, of New Bloomfield, are scheduled to arrive at Forney Field on Fort Leonard Wood Friday.
All military, civilian personnel and family members are welcome and encouraged to participate in lining the streets down Iowa and Missouri avenues beginning at 11 a.m.
McClure died May 2, 2013, in Camp Buehring, Kuwait, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. He was assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.
Visitation is scheduled for today from 5-7 p.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services are slated for Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel followed by burial with full military funeral honors in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Leonard Wood, located in Waynesville.
PFC McClure is survived by his mother: Karrie Gladden Sandfort of Columbia, MO; father: Andy McClure of Cabool, MO; four siblings: Kayce McClure of New Bloomfield, MO, Kayla McClure of Little Rock, AR, Alton McClure of Columbia, MO and Karissa Sandfort of Columbia, MO; maternal grandparents: Garry and Karen Williams of Plato, MO; maternal grandfather: Jerry D. Gladden of New Bloomfield, MO; paternal grandparents: Jim and Doris McClure of Lynchburg, MO; other relatives and friends.
