Fifteen-year-old Collin J. Colvin was taken to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Kean Karas at 3:02 a.m. June 29, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) incident report.

Colvin was riding in a 2002 Ford Windstar van driven by Jacob V. Ponder, 15, of Dixon, westbound on Curry Road, about one-quarter of a mile east of Highway U southwest of Iberia.

Ponder was not injured. According to the patrol, neither boy was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle was totaled. The crash was reported at 12:24 a.m. Saturday. Miller County sheriff's deputies assisted MSHP troopers at the crash scene.
