COLUMBIA, Mo. – OATS, Inc. announced the hiring of John Fields Jr. as the new Fleet and Safety Compliance Manager this week.
Fields has been in security management and training for more than 40 years. In addition to many years in mall security, he was a former Boone County Deputy Sheriff for 13 years and served in the United States Air Force for 11 years. Originally from the Kansas City area, Fields has resided in Boone County for 30 years. He will assume supervisory duties overseeing the statewide safety, fleet and training programs for the company.
OATS, Inc. has an extensive safety program designed to eliminate or reduce the likelihood of accidents, and ensure the well being of its riders and drivers. Fields will be responsible for the company's overall safety system, including risk assessment, training, claims handling and ensuring full compliance with Missouri Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration and Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration guidelines.
