  • A Pulaski County Sheriff's Department report confirms a shooting occurred on Harlan Road, just outside of St. Robert city limits Wednesday afternoon.
    The incident, which left a woman in critical condition, occurred at a residence on Harlan Road.
    A suspect was arrested after the shooting and is currently being held at Pulaski County Jail.
    The Sheriff's Department is currently investigating the incident.
    Wednesday's shooting was the second in St. Robert within a three-day span.
    Laila D. Carpenter, 33, of St. Robert was found fatally shot in the Alpine Haus Motel and Apartments complex, located on Old Route 66 in St. Robert, early Monday morning.
    Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I spokesman Dan Crain said an investigation is currently underway in the Monday morning incident.
    St. Robert and Rolla Police departments, in conjunction with Pulaski and Phelps County Sheriff's Departments, are also involved in the ongoing investigation of Carpenter's shooting death.
    Carpenter is survived by three children, Candra Carol Johnson, Timothy Howard Carpenter and Anthony Jay Carpenter, all of St. Robert; her parents, Merrell and Debra Johnson of St. Robert; and brother, Eric Anthony Johnson of Lawton, Okla.
