WAYNESVILLE – The hot summer sun welcomed Tigers coaches and student-athletes as the football program officially began a team camp Monday.
An entire roster of football hopefuls gathered at Slaughter Field to take on the summer heat and position competition after several conditioning and individual drills.
Monday's session was the first of a four-day camp, which will conclude Thursday with a team "Pro Day," similar to a football combine.
(*Notes: A handful of quarterbacks participated in position drills, including Trent Simpson, who is a likely candidate for the team's starting spot. No noticeable injuries occurred during the two-hour practice session.)
