A joint operation to prevent drug crimes in the county has led to the arrests of 18 individuals, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
Drug investigations last week resulted in the arrest of 12 individuals, with 6 additional apprehensions made the week prior.
A joint operation between the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG), the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department and the St. Robert Police Department has led to the arrest of numerous individuals for multiple charges.
These offenses include Possession of Controlled Substances (Heroin, Methamphetamine, Cocaine and Marijuana), Intent to Distribute Controlled Substances, along with unlawful possession of weapons. Both overt and undercover operations accounted for these arrests.
The above offenses occurred in the St. Robert and Dixon areas and are part of an aggressive, on-going operation to deter the distribution of illegal drugs in Pulaski County.
"Law enforcement officials and the citizens are tired of the devastating effects of illegal drugs in our community, and we are taking an aggressive stance against this activity," said Pulaski County Sheriff Ron Long.
Long said that drug investigation operations will be part of an ongoing endeavor throughout the county.
