Work to repair flood-damaged Route T near Newburg in Phelps County and Route H in Waynesville in Pulaski County will begin tomorrow (Wednesday, Aug. 21).  Flooding caused the roadway on Route T to slide and washed away part of Route H.

Route T will close at 7 a.m. tomorrow and is scheduled to reopen on Aug. 30.  The detour around the project is Route J to Route P to Route T.

Work on Route H will also start tomorrow morning and is also set to be completed on Aug. 30.  Route H remains closed to all but local traffic.  Motorists are asked to take an alternate route around the project.

Don Schnieders Excavating of Jefferson City is the contractor on both projects.

“We moved quickly to advertise and award these projects so we can get these roads repaired as quickly as possible and back open to traffic,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Central District Engineer David Silvester.  “We appreciate motorists’ patience while we work to repair the damage the flooding left in its wake.”
