Two area individuals were injured in a crash in southwest Missouri last week after fleeing from of officers in a vehicle that had been reported stolen by the Crocker Police Department.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report stated that on Friday, Aug. 30, around 7:32 p.m., a 2000 Toyota RAV4 was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 65 in Branson
Edward L. Roney, 32, of Crocker, was driving, and Amber R. Harris, 27, of Rolla, was a passenger in the vehicle.
Sgt. Jason Pace, of the MSHP Troop D, said the Crocker police had reported the vehicle stolen.
The vehicle was fleeing from officers and tried to avoid spike strips when it ran into the median, struck a drainage ditch and overturned.
Both Roney and Harris were taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Neither was wearing a seat belt, the patrol incident report stated. The vehicle was totaled.
