  • LAQUEY – At 8-0 overall, things are clicking for the Laquey boys soccer team.
    The Hornets opened with two close games against College Heights and Dixon, but won both by counts of 3-2 and 4-2, respectively.
    Since, Laquey has gone on to complete six-straight shutout wins: at St. James, 4-0; at Iberia, 10-0; at Aurora in Fair Grove, 8-0; at Riverton (Kan.) in Fair Grove, 4-0; at Fair Grove, 7-0; and versus Osage, 5-0.
    Coach Mike Podurgal and his swarm of Hornets are scheduled to take on Frisco Conference rival Richland today at 4:30 p.m.
    The game was moved to Laquey due to a conflicting intersport schedule. As a result, the Laquey-Richland matchup set for Oct. 15 has been moved to Richland.
