A St. Robert man who recent pleaded guilty in May to statutory rape is set appear in court again for separate offenses dating back to 2010.
Christopher Warren Howell, 31, has recently been charged with child molestation in the first degree and four counts of child abuse.
According to the probable cause statement, between September 2010 and August 2011 Howell routinely abused a 6-year-old male victim while him and his mother were living with Howell at Fort Wood Inn.
Howell "put tree oil" in the eyes of the 6-year-old victim, according to the document, punched the victim in the head several times, and held the victim's head under water in the bathtub until "he thought he would die."
The victim also reported to the Kids Harbor Too forensic interviewer that Howell tied him in a blanket with rope and left him in the corner of the room. The victim told the interviewer that these incidents occurred while his mother was at work.
The 6-year-old victim, who is now 8, also reported that Howell compelled the victim to fondle his penis on one occasion.
Howell is currently in the Pulaski County jail with a $100,000 cash-only bond. His preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 7.
