  • Ozark Media, KFLW 98.9, The Fort reached deeper than any radio waves could in the hearts of some community members recently.
Partnering with photographers from the Give Back Photography Group, KFLW hosted Recapturing Memories for Pulaski County on Saturday, September 21st.It was an event that provided free professional photography sessions for all families and individuals that lost their pictures in the flood.
"We wanted to do something good for our community members. People were already helping rebuild homes, so we chose to do something a little more sentimental," says Tai Kimes, Give Back Photography Event Coordinator.
Give Back Photographers, Lea Poole of Poole Photography, Lenay Glover of Glover Photography, and Sherleana Fuentes of Fort Leonard Wood Area Events were the main photographers for the event.
"It is a blessing to be able to give something back to someone, especially something as precious as new family photos," comments Mrs. Poole.
Office space located at the lower level of the Ozark Media building provided the perfect place for a makeshift portrait studio. The photographers took engagement, children, family, individual, and pet portraits. Photographers will edit the pictures and then give clients their pictures on a disc with a photo release allowing clients to print and share their pictures with ease.
"One thing I loved was the ability to do something so small, but see it make such a huge impact, " stated Tracy O'Quinn, Ozark Media Station Manager.
Give Back Photography Group is an informal group of professional photographers that offer free photos to groups, families, organizations, and individuals on a case-by-case basis. Photography requests can be made at www.facebook.com/givebackphotography.
