Businesses are encouraged to help boost Tiger spirit by decorating their front windows in orange and black. Judging will occur on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and participation forms are available online.
Parade starts at 2:30 p.m. Friday
Waynesville schools, school clubs, teams and organizations from the elementary, middle and high schools will participate in this year's parade. The parade begins at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, in downtown Waynesville and ends at the tennis courts at Waynesville Middle School.
"Our schools are a direct reflection of our community," says High School Principal Courtney Long. "We want everyone to come out, wear their orange and black, and show their support for the students, schools and community."
The Homecoming parade will travel from the Waynesville City Park, turn left in front of the Waynesville Post Office, turn right in front of Security Bank, turn right in front of the Pulaski County Courthouse, and then continue down Historic Route 66 (Highway 17) to the new courts located next to Waynesville Middle School.
"We hope to again line the streets with Tiger fans," says WHS Activities Director Gary Young. "We would love for people of all ages to come out and see our children and teens showing their pride in this community."
Schools will dismiss early on Friday, Oct. 11, so that families may attend the parade.
Businesses may help sponsor the parade for $75 by contacting Mr. Gary Young at 573-842-2400 ext. 3130, or by sending a check to WHS Activity Account, WHS, Attn: Gary Young, 200 GW Lane Street, Waynesville, MO 65583. The deadline for float sponsorship is Oct. 2.
