A new bakery in Waynesville will bring a taste of California to the Roubidoux Plaza.
Owner Angela Wood recently moved to the area from Barstow, Calif. to open the Sugar Shack in downtown Waynesville. She has family here and thought the Roubidoux Plaza was the perfect location.
"I'm really excited," Wood said. "I really love the area."
Wood opened the Sugar Shack on Oct. 3.
Wood has been in the baking business for more than 15 years and owned a bakery in California for three years.
The Sugar Shack offers cupcakes, cakes, cake-pops, cheesecakes, pastries, cookies, fruit baskets and much more. Wood said she enjoys doing special and customized orders of all sorts and for all occasions.
All items are made on-site by Wood.
The Sugar Shack is located in the Roubidoux Plaza, 115 North Benton Street , is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday- Thursday, Friday from 7 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This Saturday Angela will be open for the day because of Route 66 Fest on the Square.
