The City of St. Robert, the City of Waynesville, and Rep. Steve Lynch have declared the week of Oct. 23-31 as Red Ribbon Week in recognition of the Pulaski County Young Marines.
Young Marine units across the nation will participate in this nationally recognized illicit drug awareness event. The mission of The Young Marine program is to develop good citizenship and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle in our youth. Drug awareness and education are vital and key elements in the Young Marine's fight against illicit drug use and trafficking in our communities.
Enrique "Kiki" Camarena was a US Marine and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Agent that was killed in the line of duty.
The 23-30 of October is known as Red Ribbon Week and celebrates Camarena's life and vision. During the last week of October the Pulaski Young Marines ask that you wear a Red Ribbon to show support, and help rid our community of illegal drugs and those that deal them.
