The Waynesville JROTC orange team dominated the Smith Cotton Raider Meet, taking 1st place overall on Oct. 12 in Sedalia, Mo. They competed against 16 teams.
With a PT average of 293.5 and a 10k time of 55.27, the orange team was able to pull ahead of the rest early on and continued to win event after event, including an astounding 1.32 on the one rope bridge, and 3 minutes flat on the leadership reaction course.
Other events included the biathlon, Raider Challenge Course and the 1-mile ruck run.
The teams will now start their training for Raider Nationals where they will compete against the top teams across the United States for the first place spot and the national champions title. The Raiders will leave Oct. 31 for Molena, Ga., where Raider Nationals will be held.
